Estate Power Cost Efficiency Dashboard (Diesel-vs-AEDC)

Project Summary

This Excel-based dashboard analyzes diesel and AEDC power usage across 12 residential estate properties from January to June 2025. The goal was to identify waste patterns, cost leakages, and opportunities for operational optimization in estate energy management.

Key Insights

  • Diesel accounted for 85% of total power, despite AEDC offering a lower unit cost

  • Victoria Crest Estate and Coral Gate Estate were the highest spenders, with diesel dependence far exceeding grid usage

  • April showed a major diesel spike, with low AEDC supply — indicating poor generator scheduling

Solution & Recommendation

By visualizing usage and cost trends, I recommended a 3-month diesel runtime optimization:

  • Shift generator use to AEDC-peak hours or reschedule runtime to late evenings and early mornings only

  • Introduce smart switching systems

  • Targeted 12% reduction in diesel use — ₦6M+ in projected savings
