Risk Data Library Catalog

Browse standardized disaster risk data including hazard, exposure, vulnerability, and loss datasets from around the world.

Overview

The Risk Data Library Catalog is a centralized platform for discovering and accessing critical disaster risk datasets. Using the Risk Data Library Standard, an open meta data standard, it aggregates risk data from multiple authoritative sources, enabling researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and analysts to find, evaluate, and utilize high-quality risk information for disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation initiatives.

Key Features

  • Unified Search: Search and find risk datasets from multiple authoritative catalogs in a single interface, including:

    • World Bank Data Catalog
    • Humanitarian Data Exchange
    • Copernicus Climate Data Store
    • FAO Data
    • GAR PreventionWeb
  • Standardized Data: Access hazard, exposure, vulnerability, and loss datasets organized using consistent metadata standard for easy comparison and integration.

  • Multi-Source Integration: Browse datasets from leading organizations and data platforms without managing multiple separate catalogs.

  • Advanced Discovery: Filter and refine your search to find datasets most relevant to your geographic region, hazard type, or analytical needs.

Getting Started

Browsing the Catalog

Visit the Risk Data Library Catalog to explore available datasets. Use the search functionality to find datasets by keyword, hazard type, geographic region, or data source.

Accessing Data

Most datasets include direct links to download or access the data through their original source platforms. Dataset records provide:

  • Detailed metadata and descriptions
  • Data download links or API access information
  • Data format and structure details
  • Attribution and licensing information
  • Point of contact for additional questions
