Hi there is this project discontinued ? The official website Quilljs.com is not working anymore when visiting all you get is :

Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information).
and in the console : ReferenceError: Quill is not defined

Also the last release is 1 year old...

Any updates ?

As you can see in #4622 you are not the first person to ask :(

There were a minor flurry of activity in July this year, but no actual words from the maintainers on the future of this project.

I edited my post incognito mode does not work neither. I added a clean installed Windows 11 virtual machine screenshot too.

But right it works on my iPhone that is also setup with NextDNS, but that does not explain my laptop issue.

I'm in Canada. Maybe there are geographic restrictions (eg. to non-western countries). Just guessing randomly ... Does it work on your cell phone?

It works on my Phone using a geo located VPN does not change anything.

The plugin is available and not restricted in Turkey.

Maybe my setup with a Local DNS (CoreDNS) that redirects my DNS requests to NextDNS to bypass my ISP restrictions but even overriding it does not change the result, and curriously it works on my mobile...

Very weird.

Could it be that Quill is using some component that is restricted?
What if you use a VPN to USA?

@luin are you able to provide any insight for the community on if this is abandoned?

@luin is maintainer and @jhchen is BDFL of quill. Both are highly active on github but lack feedback here. I think we can all agree that there is no incentive to move on with this repository from any party involved. Otherwise they would at least take care of the multiple CVE that have already been reported.

It seems we have to find another solution like quill-next or so. Speaks volumes when the CEO and BDFL of slab lacks feedback on one of the most popular editors out there, which (as they claim) is used by multiple bigger companies.
It also speaks volume for slab.com as a company itself.

We've been totally ghosted by Slab's Support team—no replies to our messages or emails for months. Even tried reaching out to their Sales team; nothing. Definitely getting concerned.

I really need the functionalities of quill but can't proceed without CVE issues resolved, esp CVE-2025-15056. I'm going to look at quill-next. Hopefully, CVE-2025-15056 is resolved in quill-next project. It's disappointing the projet is not received any momentum for at least the CVE issues. Without these security fixes, anyone using this project will have to abandon usage.

I have found an alternative tiptap based on prosemirror. I successfully replaced quill and primeng editor with tiptap.
