[Bug]: Changing smtp server is not reflected in Calendar invites

Bug description

Calendar invites were working earlier with smtp.puri.sm as the mail server. Recently we changed the DNS entry of smtp.puri.sm to point to ms.puri.sm (our new smtp server), but continue connecting to the old smtp server and fails. Sending a test email works showing NextCloud is actually able to send mails with the new smtp server.

So we changed the smtp server to another one - lists.puri.sm and again test mail was successful and config.php reflected the changes. But Calendar still connects to the old server and fail.

Steps to reproduce

1. Update smtp server settings to a new server
2. send test mail to confirm new server can send mails
3. create and event and send the invitation - this goes to the old smtp server - confirm in email headers

Expected behavior

Changing the smtp server should be reflected in smtp server used by calendar invites comonent.

Thanks for reaching out. According to the stack trace sending calendar invitations via mail is enabled, hence the user's imap/smtp account in the mail app is used instead of the server.

To resolve the issue you have to update the credentials also in the mail app for the given account. You can also disable the mail provider as administrator in the groupware section.

Thanks, if smtp server is configured in the mail app, invites are sent correctly. Since this nextcloud instance was originally setup by someone else, it did not occur to me per user email setting would be an option. Sorry for the noise. Closing.
