Renaming folder with dot in the name duplicates part of the name

Steps to reproduce:

1. create a new folder in the workspace
2. name it test.folder and confirm creation
3. right click on it and select properties
4. add a single s at the end of the name (so it's now test.folders) and click on done
5. folder is now named test.folders.folder

Thanks for the bug report. I'm able to reproduce this. Seems like it's only happening for File Workspaces. Very odd behavior. Will be fixing this soon.

I replaced the way we deal with extensions for the same.
