This repository contains a proposal for a try operator.
AI assistance should be used primarily as a critical thinking partner, not as an automatic writer that simply agrees with the current direction.
- Look for argumentation holes, weak assumptions, and missing edge cases.
- Propose alternative designs, tradeoffs, and counter-arguments.
- Challenge the current framing when there are better ways to explain or justify the proposal.
- Think out of the box, including ecosystem, ergonomics, and committee-process concerns.
- Help stress-test examples for readability, correctness, and consistency.
- Blindly agreeing with the proposal's current text.
- Producing persuasive text that is accepted without human review.
- Introducing factual claims without verification.
Follow TC39 guidance from TC39's AI_POLICY.md.
In practice:
- Final proposal contributions and comments must be human-authored.
- Do not submit raw AI-generated text as your contribution.
- AI may be used for proofreading and translation, as long as no new content is introduced by the tool.
Use AI to improve the quality of human reasoning and writing. The final arguments, wording, and decisions should come from the proposal authors.
