What workfow do you want to improve?
Currently, all hotkeys automatically switch audio devices upon activation. This can sometimes be inconvenient. For example, when audio is already playing, switching to a speaker device will immediately output sound through speakers. This may cause unexpected and potentially embarrassing situations, especially in office environments.
I would like to improve the workflow by allowing safer and more controlled switching of audio devices, without triggering an immediate change.
How to make it better?
Add a configurable hotkey that opens the audio device switching interface without automatically switching the device. After pressing the hotkey, users can manually select the desired playback device using the mouse.
This would help prevent unintended audio output and provide better control when switching devices in shared or quiet environments.
Any alternative?
With the current functionality, this would simply mean not automatically switching devices—users can just select the desired device by clicking with the mouse in the existing overlay menu.
